Wycleff Jean Releases Music Video in Support of Flood Stricken Haiti

Popular American-born Haitian musician Wyclef Jean has released a music video in support of thousands of Haitians who are still recovering from the devastation caused by recent floods in the country.

Mr. Jean, who was a key member of the Fugees band, visited flood stricken parts of Haiti in October and composed a new song 'Gonaives' to raise awareness of the plight of the flood victims in Haiti.  The video is being released by the UN food agency, the World Food Programme, ahead of a meeting of the Haiti Contact Group, hosted by the World Bank in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.  Wyclef Jean, a Grammy award winner, will speak and perform at the function. Other participants at the one day meeting are the International Monetary Fund, United Nations agencies, donors and special interest groups. Nearly two thousand people were killed when the tropical storm Jeanne hit the country in September. And many thousands have been displaced as a result.
