UN to Launch Largest Appeal for Tidal Wave Victims

The United Nations is on the brink of launching its largest ever appeal to fund the massive aid operation in areas of South Asia.
UN Assistant Emergency Relief Coordinator Yvette Stevens said in Geneva that the international aid needed for the areas around the Indian Ocean was likely to exceed the previous record UN appeal of 1.6 billion dollars for Iraq last year.
