GA Debates Prevention of Road Traffic Accidents
31/03/2008
Traffic accidents kill more than a million people each year and injure tens of millions. They are the leading cause of death of young people between the ages of 10 and 24. The problem is especially acute in developing countries, where 90% of these deaths occur. According to the World Health Organization, road traffic injuries are set to become the eighth leading cause of death by the year 2030, unless action is taken urgently to reduce their number.
