Secretary-General in Romania for Meeting on Afghanistan

On his first visit to Romania as UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon met with Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu in the capital, Bucharest.
Their discussion covered a wide variety of topics, including the situations in Afghanistan and Kosovo, the Millennium Development Goals and fighting against crime. The Secretary-General also met with the Secretary-General of NATO, Jaap de Hop Scheffer.Spokesperson Marie Okabe has more:
"They discussed Afghanistan, Kosovo and cooperation between the United Nations and NATO. On Afghanistan they discussed whether regular troops would be offered at tomorrow's high-level meeting."
Mr. Ban is in Romania to attend the Meeting on Afghanistan.
