On Thusday, Former Kosovo Prime Minister Ramus Haradinaj, who was charged with war crimes by the UN Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia, was acquitted of all charges. He was alleged to have committed these crimes in 1998 while serving as a commander in the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). Another Kosovo Albanian, Idriz Balaj, was also cleared by the judges, while a third, Lahi Brahimaj, was sentenced to six years in prison. Former Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte accused UN Misison in Kosovo of protecting Haradinaj. Elena Vapnitchnaia asked the spokesperson for the Prosecutor Olga Kavran to comment on the case.
