UN gets ready for Pope Benedict's visit
11/04/2008
Tightened security measures are being put in place as the UN gets ready for the visit of Pope Benedict the XVI next week. This is the fourth papal visit to the United Nations. The President of the General Assembly, which the Pope will address on the 18th of April, calls the visit "special". Serjan Kerim said the religious leader of more than a billion Catholics in the world shares many of the concerns and aspirations of the UN. That is why its Secretary General invited the Pope to convey his message from the General Assembly podium. What is his message? That is what UN Radio's Julie Walker asked Archbishop Celestino Migliore, the Vatican's Permanent Observer at the UN.
