As rising prices of basic foods like wheat and rice are threatening food security in developing countries, an international team of scientists has come out with an assessment of current agricultural practices. The report says that modern agriculture will have to change radically to better serve the poor and hungry, if the world is to cope with a growing population and climate change, while avoiding social breakdown and environmental collapse.
