Ban honours memory of Dr Martin Luther King Jr.

During a two-day stay in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon paid tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., saying the values the renowned civil rights leader lived and died for are shared by the United Nations. While in Atlanta, the Secretary-General viewed parts of the King collection of writings, met with former US President Jimmy Carter and Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue and visited the Centers for Disease Control.
