UN-backed Somalia peace talks end without agreement

United Nations-brokered peace talks aimed at ending 17 years of conflict in Somalia have ended without agreement.
UN special envoy for Somalia, Ahmedou Ould-Abdallah, says he "made the decision to terminate the conference" held in Djibouti.He says neither side would make any concessions, adding that international diplomats could not be held hostage by personality disputes.
Ould-Abdallah also drew attention to the continuing hostilities, saying the fighting was terrible for the people of Somalia.
At least 28 people were killed over the weekend during clashes between Islamists insurgents and Ethiopian troops backing the Somalia Government.
