One woman's voice as Israel and Hezbollah prepare to exchange prisoners
30/06/2008
After nearly two years of German-brokered negotiations, Israel has agreed to trade a convicted Lebanese man for the bodies of two Israeli soldiers held by the Lebanese group Hezbollah. The two Israeli soldiers are Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, abducted from Israel's northern border by Hezbollah in July of 2006. UN Radio's Maha Fayek was in Israel recently where she spoke with Karnit Goldwasser (photo), the wife of Ehud Goldwasser---who is known as "Udi"--who sensed even then that her husband might not be alive.
