The United Nations questions the outcome of Zimbabwe's presidential run-off elections.

- The response at the United Nations to last Friday's presidential run-off elections in Zimbabwe has been clear: the Zimbabwean authorities defied international public opinion and went ahead with the elections despite calls for their postponement.

-Farmers in Malawi continue to get subsidies in order to improve food production in the face of soaring food prices. Time Fatch of the Irrigation Rural Livelihoods and Agricultural Development Project says in the 11 districts that IRLAD is working farmers have doubled their output.

-The World Health Organization and its partners unveil a new revolutionary technology to diagnose multi-drug resistant tuberculosis in just two days. A laboratory for testing MDR-TB is now being built in Lesotho and is expected to be completed by October this year.
