Easing life for disabled refugees

Somalia, as we just heard, is a dangerous place both for humanitarian workers and its own citizens. More than a decade ago, Abdi Salah fled the civil war in his native Somalia at the age of 11. Mr. Salah has polio and is among the estimated 3 million disabled people who have fled conflict, war, or natural disasters. At the recent launch of a report on disabilities among refugees prepared by the Women's Commission for Refugee Women and Children, and co-funded by the UN refugee agency, UNHCR, Mr. Salah told UN Radio's Diane Bailey his story.
