Ban Ki-moon urges G8 to act on food crisis

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urges the Group of Eight leading industrialized nations to demonstrate leadership and take urgent actions to avoid a collapse of global food security.

Mr. Ban warned that inaction now would mean the world would pay a much higher price tomorrow. He was speaking in Hokkaido, Japan, the venue of the G8 summit, from where UN Radio's Hak-Fan Lau sent this report:
