Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says he's immensely concerned by the recent attack on UN peacekeepers in Sudan's Darfur region.

The Secretary-General made his comments during a UN press conference Thursday afternoon.

"I condemn such violence in the strongest possible terms and call on the Government of Sudan to do its utmost to ensure that those who committed this act are pursued and brought to justice."

Secretary-General Ban called on all parties in the region to respect their agreements.

And he says the United Nations will continue to work impartially and in full cooperation with its partners to bring peace and stability to the troubled region.
