Author Samantha Power, biographer of Sérgio Vieira de Mello

While working on Song without Borders, Steve Heitzeg researched the lives of the 22 UN staff members killed in Baghdad. He cites as his main inspiration the book by Samantha Powers.

Her book "Chasing the Flame: Sérgio Vieira de Mello and the Fight to Save the World," details the life of the former High Commissioner for Human Rights, including his reluctance to take the position in Iraq.
