Independent tests confirm no radioactive leaks at IAEA facility

Independent tests have confirmed that no radioactive material was released following an incident earlier this month at a facility in Austria run by the UN nuclear energy watchdog, the IAEA.

The tests were conducted by radiation protection experts from the Austrian Research Centers, who analyzed soil, plant and water samples collected from outside IAEA laboratories in the city of Siebersdorf, south of the capital, Vienna.

Since the August 3rd incident, constant air monitoring near the laboratory has also provided no evidence of radioactive contamination.
