UN chief strongly condemns bombing of US Embassy in Yemen
17/09/2008
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has strongly condemned Wednesday's terrorist bombing of the United States Embassy in Sana'a, Yemen.
Deputy Spokeswoman Marie Okabe says the Secretary-General is saddened by the reported deaths of at least 16 people, including Yemeni guards and civilians outside the Embassy, as well as the wounding of many others in this attack."Attacks on diplomatic facilities and personnel worldwide are against international law and are totally unacceptable. The Secretary-General calls on the Yemeni authorities to spare no effort in bringing those responsible to justice."
The Secretary-General extends his condolences to the families of the victims, and wishes those injured a full recovery.
