Security Council strongly condemns terrorist attack in Pakistan

The UN Security Council has strongly condemned Saturday's terrorist attack in Islamabad, Pakistan which caused numerous deaths and injuries including foreign diplomats as well as local residents.
In a formal statement read out by the council's president for this month, Ambassador Michel Kafando of Burkina Faso, the 15-member body underlined the need to bring the perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors "of this reprehensible act to justice".It reaffirmed that all acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, and that terrorism must be fought by allmeans consistent with the United Nations Charter and international law.
