Iran says it will continue to defend its rights to peaceful nuclear power

Iran says it is all for dialogue about its peaceful nuclear programme.

But President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the UN General Assembly Teheran has not accepted and will not accept illegal demands.

Speaking through an interpreter, President Ahmadinejad says Iran with determination, steadfastness and support of its friends has defended and will continue to defend its rights.

"The time has come for the IAEA to present a clear report to the international community on its monitoring of the disarmament of these nuclear powers and their nuclear activities, and for a disarmament committee to be established by independent states to monitor the disarmament of these nuclear powers."

Ahmadinejad says despite the inalienable right of all nations including the Iranian nation to produce nuclear fuel for peaceful purposes, few powers have sought to put hurdles in the way of its peaceful nuclear activities.
