Morales wants to resume dialogue with the United States

Bolivian President Evo Morales defended his decision to expel the US Ambassador to his country earlier this month, after accusing the US of conspiring to oust him. Yet he said he is open to dialogue with the United States.

"What the American tax-payer pays in should not be used to fund unrest, to fund the opposition in countries. We have found documents that say that the conspiracy against the government is funded by funds from the United States."

President Morales admitted the documents have not been traced to the US government and might originate with the former Bolivian Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada. He called for his extradition from the US to face charges at home.
