The International Atomic Energy Agency has stepped up its cooperation in the research into nuclear fusion. The IAEA this week signed an agreement with the organization behind the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor or ITER--a device that is pointing the way towards nuclear fusion, which is a form of nuclear energy created by the merging of light atoms. Dianne Penn spoke to the head of the Physics Section at the IAEA, Guenter Mank, who is thrilled about the development.
