The Philippines hosts a Global Forum on Migration and Development.

UN Calling Asia - a weekly magazine programme, in English, that keeps you in touch with UN developments covering Asia and the Pacific.

The world is on the move. Approximately 200 million people are living outside their country of origin. For this reason, experts gathered this week in Manila, the capital of The Philippines, for the second Global Forum on Migration and Development to study the challenges and opportunities posed by international migration.

Celebrating United Nations Day with The Silk Road Ensemble, led by renowned cellist and UN Messenger of Peace, Yo-Yo Ma.

October 24th is celebrated as United Nations Day. And this year, UN staff were treated to a concert by The Silk Road Ensemble. The group brings together musicians, composers, arrangers, visual artists and storytellers, all from various backgrounds. It is led by renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
