Sale of more than 100 tons of ivory to China and Japan

The first legal sale of ivory tusks in nearly a decade took place over the last two weeks in four countries in southern Africa. More than 100 tons of ivory was sold to bidders from China and Japan. The auctions were monitored by officials from CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. Bissera Kostova reports.
