UN Convoy in DRC attacked by civilians

A UN convoy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo was transporting ten candidates for demobilization when it was accosted on Sunday by civilians before it reached Goma, where it was to hand them over to the army, the FARDC. It also had 3 civilians and ten policemen on board, but the crowd thought that among them were rebels loyal to Laurent Nkunda, the CNDP. Bissera Kostova spoke earlier to the spokesman of MONUC, Madnoje Mounoubai, who explains what happened when the convoy was stopped at an FARDC checkpoint.
