UNICEF working on getting children back to school in Georgia

UNICEF- the UN children's agency says it's working on the challenges of getting students to return to school in Georgia by September 15th following the recent conflict.

UNICEF Communications Office Robert Cohen says the big challenge is to ensure that the children among the internally-displaced people -IDPs- can return to school.

"UNICEF views the return to school in September as a golden opportunity to help children begin to recover from the trauma of war and restore their hope in the future and we are concerned along with the rest of the humanitarian community that not all children will be able to return to classes on time."

Cohen says UNICEF has joined with the Government of Georgia and other humanitarian organizations to organize a back-to-school campaign.
