Ban Ki-moon strongly condemns bombings in Pakistan
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has strongly condemned the terrorist bombings in the Pakistani cities of Lahore and Quetta.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, he says these attacks, which deliberately targeted Shiite Muslims and killed or injured scores of civilians, are unacceptable.
More than 40 people are reported to have died and over 100 wounded when a suicide bomber struck a rally in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Pakistani city of Quetta on Friday.
The attack came two days after a series of bombings at a Shi'te procession in the eastern City of Lahore, killing more than 30 people.
The Secretary-General extends his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government and people of Pakistan.
