Thanks to a special programme run by the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), 5,000 South Sudanese children have now been reunited with their families.

The 5,000th child to be reunited with his mother after a four-year separation was a 17-year-old boy who had fled violence in his home state of Western Equatoria.

South Sudan descended into brutal civil war in 2013 between rival forces that's displaced millions, with around 215,000 civilians now living in UN-run protection camps.
