Decent "green" jobs are the future and they must be placed at the heart of the sustainable development agenda, the chief of the International Labour Organization (ILO) said on Monday.

Guy Ryder made the remarks during the opening of the 106th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC) in Geneva.

He also introduced ILO's latest report to the ILC entitled "Work in a changing climate: The Green Initiative".

Its publication also coincides with World Environment Day celebrated every year on 5 June.

The ILO's Guebray Berhane reports from Geneva.
