The "unprecedented and growing" threat to the planet posed by climate change means that it's "absolutely essential" to implement the Paris Agreement, said the UN chief on Tuesday.

Secretary-General António Guterres unveiled a five-point plan to move forward on the historic Paris Agreement on climate change, signed by more than 190 countries in 2015.

It commits countries to limit global temperature rises to below two degrees above pre-industrial levels.
