Security Council: UN relief chief urges "action today" on Syria

The UN's top humanitarian official has appealed to the Security Council to take action now on Syria.

Stephen O'Brien, who addressed the 15 ambassadors on Thursday, reiterated the UN's belief that there can be no military solution to the crisis.

More than 250,000 people have been killed in the Syrian conflict, now in its seventh year.
