Guterres launches personal appeal for Yemen

Two-thirds of the Yemeni population are in need of emergency support and now is the time to help them, said UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Tuesday, addressing a pledging conference in Geneva.

Mr Guterres said that the conflict between forces loyal to President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and Houthi rebels had created the world's biggest hunger crisis and was "starving and crippling an entire generation".
