Partnerships “key” to tackling global humanitarian challenges : UN chief

Strengthening partnerships between humanitarian organizations is key to tackling the enormous suffering in today’s world.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres made the comment during a visit to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KS Relief) in Saudi Arabia.

The Centre was established in 2015 and has donated millions to provide aid to countries in crisis like Syria, Yemen, Iraq and more.

Humanitarian organizations must work together to overcome the suffering and dramas of today’s world, the Secretary-General urged during a visit to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre on Sunday.

During his visit to Riyadh, the second leg of his Middle East tour, António Guterres also met with the King, the Crown Prince and Deputy Crown Prince, as well as with senior officials.

His next stop is in the United Arab Emirates, followed by Oman, Qatar and Egypt.

The Secretary-General praised the King Salman Centre for its strong commitment to humanitarian principles in Syria, Yemen and in many other countries.
