Aid obstacles are a matter of life and death for besieged SyriansListen /
Assurances have been given to humanitarians by the Syrian government that obstacles to aid deliveries will be removed across the war-torn country, the UN said on Thursday.
UN Special Adviser Jan Egeland told journalists in Geneva that an "administrative quagmire" has prevented all aid from reaching besieged populations by road so far this year.
Ahead of a new round of Intra-Syrian talks in the Swiss city, Mr Egeland added that the issue was a question of life and death for many.
