Concern is growing for asylum-seekers facing freezing conditions in the Balkans amid reports that they are still facing police violence and expulsion from European Union Member States.

The UN Refugee Agency UNHCR said on Friday that more than 3,400 people have been pushed back from the Hungarian border to Serbia, while other foreign nationals have cited being expelled from Serbia to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).

The agency's Cécile Pouilly also told Daniel Johnson that UNHCR has also received information that police have confiscated people's mobile phones and clothes.
