World has "resolve" to transform transport systems

The world has the "resolve commitment, imagination and creativity" to transform "transport systems in a sustainable manner that will improve human wellbeing, enhance social progress and protect our planet." That's the message, the UN Secretary-General has taken to the first-ever Global Sustainable Transport Conference, which opened  in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on Saturday. Condolences at UN following death of Fidel Castro

The UN Secretary-General has expressed his condolences to the people of Cuba following the death of their former President Fidel Castro. Ban Ki-moon said he would be remembered for advances in Cuba in the fields of education, literacy and health. Mr Castro passed away overnight at the age of 90. Daniel Dickinson has more details.
