US$21 billion "dividend" to keep 10-year old girls in school

Listen /

Developing countries around the world could reap a US$21 billion "dividend" if all 10-year old girls are able to finish secondary education.

The report shows girls are less likely than boys to complete schooling and more likely to face forced marriage and  child labour.

Richard Kollodge is the editor of the annual flagship report.

Daniel Dickinson asked him why is it so important to keep girls in school.
