"Raw grief and unquenchable anger" is how the UN's top humanitarian official has described his feelings about the latest developments in war-torn Syria.

Stephen O'Brien was addressing the UN Security Council following a series of attacks on the city of Aleppo in which at least 96 children were killed.

The civil war in Syria is now in its sixth year.

Daniel Johnson reports from Geneva.
