When the top athletes from more than 200 countries stride into the Olympic stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this Friday evening, there's no doubt that one team in particular will be applauded by people of all nationalities.

For the first time ever, a Refugee Olympic Team will compete at the Games.

Supported by the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), it represents the hopes of millions of people who have had their lives uprooted due to conflict or persecution.
