Growth in aquaculture contributes to rise in fish consumption

For the first time ever, people are eating more farmed fish than species caught in the wild.

That's according to the latest report from the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

It finds that annual global per capita fish consumption has also risen to over 20 kilogrammes, or about 44 pounds, which is double the level of the 1960s.

Manuel Barange, Director of the FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy and Resources Division, tells Sandra Ferrari what's behind this increase.
