Bid to end violence “affecting 1 billion youngsters a year"

An ambitious strategy to end violence against children has been unveiled by UN health experts.

Launching the plan on Tuesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that a new global approach is needed as it affects around one billion children every year.

Despite the alarming data, WHO says that many cases of violence are "hidden, unseen or under-reported".
