The ability of the international community to resolve disputes is under attack and unravelling, the UN's human rights chief has warned.

High Commissioner Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein was speaking at the beginning of the 32nd session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Swiss Minister for Foreign Affairs Didier Burkhalter, meanwhile, launched an appeal with support from more than 60 Member States for the council to have more influence on the UN Security Council's decisions.
