Meet Sophia: a model way to end plastic pollution

Visitors from all walks of life come to the UN, but chances are there's probably never been one made out of plastic and wearing trainers, jeans and a hoody.

The lifelike human model is called Sophia, and she's the brainchild of UN agency UNECE, the Economic Commission for Europe.

She's been unveiled for World Environment Day marked annually on 5 June to raise awareness about plastic pollution and the threat it poses to wildlife, as UNECE's Lucica Matei tells Daniel Johnson.
