Syrians who chose to stay in their homes or were forced to remain in Syria, must not be forgotten as the war drags on.

That's according to Janine di Giovanni, Middle East editor of Newsweek and contributing editor at Vanity Fair.

Ms di Giovanni visited the UN to discuss her new book that tells the story of Syrians who stayed behind, called The Morning They Came for Us: Dispatches from Syria.

She spoke to Janie Cangelosi.
