Foreign terrorist fighters returning home from Syria and Iraq radicalized and "battle-hardened" pose a "real risk" to the entire international community.

That's according to the chair of the UN Security Council Committee which oversees sanctions against the ISIL and Al Qaida terrorist groups.

The council was briefed on Wednesday by the heads of several committees involved in the global counter-terrorism effort.

Matthew Wells reports.
