New efforts to restore Syria's "frayed" and "shredded" ceasefire are under way, US Secretary of State John Kerry announced in Geneva on Monday.

Speaking after meeting with UN Special Envoy Staffan de Mistura, Mr Kerry said that the United States is working with the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) to restore calm in the war-torn country.
