War, human rights violations, underdevelopment, climate change and natural disasters are leading more people to leave their homes than at any time since reliable records began.

That's according to the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon speaking ahead of the release of a report called In Safety and Dignity which looks at the large movements of refugees and migrants.

The report says there are close to 250 million people on the move globally, of whom nearly 15 million are refugees.

In September, an international summit at the UN will look at new ways to approach the issue.

Karen AbuZayd is UN Special Adviser for the summit.

Paulina Kubiak asked her what she expected to come out of those discussions.
