The living conditions for migrants being held in detention centers in Libya have been described by the UN as "terrible," with cases of abuse allegedly frequent.

The assessment by the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for the country, Ali Al-Za'tari, follows the death in custody of four migrants from Sub-Saharan Africa in a facility in al-Zawiya in the north of the country.

All four were shot.

Reem Abaza asked Mr Al-Za'tari for more details of the incident.
