Syria peace talks continue though neither side "is yielding a comma"

Peace talks on the future of Syria are continuing despite a "clearly wide" gap between the main participants, UN Special Envoy Staffan de Mistura has said.

Speaking in Geneva after discussions with the government of Syria and the High Negotiations Committee (HNC), de Mistura conceded that neither side had "been yielding a comma".

But he insisted that the key issue of political transition was still "on the agenda".
