The Asia-Pacific region must create more and better jobs to turn its population challenges into an opportunity, a new UN report has advised.

The Human Development Report 2016 compiled by the UN Development Programme or UNDP suggests innovative policies for maximizing the potential of changing demographics.

Asia and the Pacific will have nearly 5 billion people by 2050, meanwhile, the population in the region has tripled over the past 65 years, the agency says.

The official launch of the report is scheduled for 26 April in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
