Children and adults with Down syndrome should be empowered to contribute to the global common future.

That's the message from the UN Secretary-General on World Down Syndrome Day, observed this Monday, 21 March.

This year's theme looks at the importance of friendship and community.

Dianne Penn discusses this with Carol Boys, Chief Executive at the Down's Syndrome Association in the United Kingdom.
